Ping services help you, web administrators, notifying blog directories or search engines about your web updates. In WordPress powered sites, Ping task is done automatically. By default, rpc.pingomatic.com is listed in update ping services box. You can configure it manually on Dashboard > Settings > Writing > Update Services.
